*UPDATE* an end of year evolution

A few days ago I posted images of the latest evolution of the BelfryBoy data logger, using a 3d printed cover filler with epoxy to give a nicer finish the the assembly.

the print house that supplied the covers weren't 100% happy with the result so they ran the print again and the results are fantastic! very clean lines, great curves, and dimensionally perfect! Many thanks to 4th Room, St. Anne's!

Here are the results.

  1. Hi! Just discovered the possibility to avoid the davis data logger and got excited.

I've been reading the information you posted but didn't find anything about how long it takes for you to dispatch an order. I'd like to know how long it would take to get the logger once I place the order (I live in Spain).

    Thanks!

P.S: Sorry of here is not the place to put the question but I haven't found any other way to contact you.

    1. I can usually dispatch the same day as an order is received, if I have stock.

  2. I was thinking about building my own but your links to the board house are not valid anymore.
Are the boards still available for those of us who like to solder?

    1. I've now altered the board house link so that you can buy them directly from me, £10 for three boards.

    2. hmn... it seems that the 1 AT45DB011 listed in my previously referenced parts list is no longer available.
So, I've seen you offer a parts and instruction list before... might you send me one? Realistically, I'm no sure that my Davis unit will arrive before I am tied up / unable to work on this for a month so I don't expect to be able to place an order / make a decision regarding diy or ordering the complete unit from you until mid February. I'd still like the information though, to mull things over.

    3. Soldr, I've had great difficulty sourcing the SO8 part, but have 15 left. The new board can use either SO8 or UDFN-8. The new board also uses an FT231XS USB chip. I can supply the dataflash chip programmed, the other parts are all easily available.

  3. I have a Davis Vantage Vue 6250 which I REALLY like and I just ordered your data logger. I want to set up personal weather station which can be seen by my new WiFi connected irrigation control system for my property. My plan is to connect your data logger to my laptop. My question is, do I need anything else to get my PWS going?
